Thoughts:
On September 2, 2009, I posted the story that Nintendo of America had stopped publishing the original Endless Ocean, and how if you wanted to purchase it, you should probably start looking.
As the pricing on Amazon.com shows, new copies of Endless Ocean are selling for more than $50.
The original Endless Ocean, like its sequel, has a MSRP of just $29.99.
I guess people are still buying the original game, but I wonder how many are buying it by mistake.

I do find it interesting Endless Ocean: Blue World has already debuted on the Nintendo Channel, because it actually debuted almost as fast as No More Heroes 2 did.
No More Heroes 2 debuted in 41 days, compared to 43 for Endless Ocean 2, but No More Heroes 2 also had 6,997 fewer "Total Hours" on its debut, than Endless Ocean: Blue World does.
Also, No More Heroes 2 had approximately 485 fewer players reporting data on its debut, compared to Endless Ocean 2's debut.
If you want to see No More Heroes 2's debut data again, you can find it at: http://coffeewithgames.blogspot.com/2010/03/no-more-heroes-2-desperate-struggles.html.

If you don't know, Endless Ocean: Blue World was released with two packages for the game, but they are both selling for the same MSRP of $29.99.
One package contains just the game itself.
The other package contains the game, Endless Ocean: Blue World, and the Wii Speak accessory.

Questions:
1)  Did any of you play the original Endless Ocean?  If so, have you played the sequel, Endless Ocean: Blue World, and what do you think of the differences in them?
I didn't play the original, but I have purchased Endless Ocean: Blue World.  So far, I've only played about the first 20 minutes of the game, and it's very interesting.  I'm looking forward to playing it some more, to see how the game-play develops.
2)  If you haven't played either Endless Ocean game, are they games that even interest you?
If you're looking to purchase Endless Ocean: Blue World and you don't have a Wii Speak accessory, I highly suggest making sure your copy comes with the Wii Speak accessory.  Again, it's no extra charge for the accessory and the game uses it in online play.

  1. Ive owned both. Theres a huge difference between 1 and 2 mainly in the fact number one has fuzzy graphics. and I mean FUZZY. Its also nice not having to listen to hayley westenra in the sequal. i like her but not every time i dive. this time you get a reef where as in the original you got an aquarium. I have an obsession with filling in maps and in the sequal I get paid to do it which is awesome. the game is still a little hard on the wrist but I think controls have improved slightly, though I miss not being able to stroke all the fish. You can go ashore in this one too where you find other animals and the quest system isnt too bad in the sequal. Biggest shock was that the original was released at 16 gbp and the sequal at 30, but alas I love them so I paid it, to make up for how little the first one cost. Awesome games.

  2. @Hayley:
Interesting about the original releasing at 16 gbp, and the sequel releasing at 30!
Here in the US, the first was released with a MSRP of $29.99(US dollars) and the sequel released also has a MSRP of $29.99(US dollars).

You said the controls are a little, "hard on the wrist". Are you playing with just the Wii Remote, or are you trying the Classic Controller as well? I've started the game using just the Wii Remote, and I'll see how that goes.

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. I didn't get to use the air meter during the first stage. What's the use of air meters, and how do they relate to your diving skills?
