Link's reported Crossbow Training Time

Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training

On November 19, 2007, Nintendo released the Wii Zapper bundled with Link's Crossbow Training.
Last week, reader Chuckpebble made a comment wondering how Link's Crossbow Training was doing.
Does Link practice enough with his crossbow and have enough hours reported, to prove a steady hand?
Or is Link's crossbow training more of a hobby, not to be taken seriously?

Number of Players Reporting Data:
Link's Crossbow Training has approximately 456,807 players reporting their play-time data on the Wii's Nintendo Channel.

"Total" Game-Play Hours & Average Hours "Per person" Reported:
Link's Crossbow Training has 2,429,549 Total Hours reported, in 862 days since it released.
The average hours reported played, per person, are 5 Hours 19 Minutes.

Amazon.com Sale Rank & Advertised Price:
The Official Wii Zapper with Link's Crossbow Training's Amazon.com sale rank is #237 and its current selling price is $19.99.
If you're wondering, "I don't want the Wii Zapper, can't I just buy the game?"
Well, Link's Crossbow Training is available by itself on Amazon.com, though a third party.
The game's rank by itself is #7,071 and its advertised selling price is $67.32!

GameRankings.com Review Score Average:
Link's Crossbow Training's review score average is 69.53%, based on just 37 reviews.
I really thought the package, with the Wii Zapper and game, would have been reviewed by more sites, considering the game has "Link" in its name.

Thoughts:
I didn't buy the Wii Zapper, and I haven't played Link's Crossbow Training.
I think the hours reported for it are surprisingly well, better than I was expecting them to be.
Again, from the day the game released, until the data captured in the picture, it was approximately 862 days.
In the video game world, Link has been training approximately 117 hours per day, since the game released.
Hopefully, all those training hours will be put to good use in his next adventure!

Questions:
Have you played Link's Crossbow Training?
If so, is it a game that you would recommend to others?
Did you play it with the Wii Zapper, and did that help or hurt the experience?

  1. Okay, in my honest opinion, the Wii Zapper sucks. Hard to hold, uncomfortable, wonky control layouts for the games inended, it just flat out sucks. I have two Nyko Perfect Shots, and for $10-15 each they are miles ahead of the Zapper. Link's Crossbow training is cool, however I'd still rather the Perfect Shot. http://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Shot-Wii-Nintendo/dp/B000X2RKOO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1270351975&sr=8-1

  2. @keith:
I've heard other people say the same about the Wii Zapper. I've also heard good things about the Nyko Perfect Shots.
I just don't have any games that would use them right now.
Maybe, if I find Link's Crossbow Training for cheap, I'll get a Nyko Perfect Shot to go with it.

    Thanks for the comment!

  3. True, I just don't see myself playing the entire single-player campaign in COD with the Zapper.
