Questions/Thought
     Have any of you seen recent video game sales that were just too good to pass up? If so, were the sales online or in a store, and what games did you pick up?
     For me, Best Buy recently had Metroid: Other M on sale for only $5. I quickly forwarded the link to Mrs. Coffee, as I'm trying to stick with my New Year's video game resolution of not purchasing any video games until I finish my backlog, or the year is up.

  1. This Amazon sale is tempting, I wouldn't mind getting Skyrim for 50% off.

    The best game sales I've seen recently have been on Steam; around Black Friday they had some really huge price cuts. Unfortunately I didn't buy anything, I have quite a few games I should finish before investing in a bunch of new ones!

  2. I took the Best Buy buy 2 get 1 free sale instead. Bought four, got two free.

  3. Some good deals on both counts - but I'm already bought-up for the kids for Christmas (got posts about that coming up after Christmas on my blog) so I'm pretty well game-purchased out for awhile. :)

  4. If I had waited to get Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 I would definitely have two over $29 to select, but I purchased separately. Other than that I'm not seeing anything I can't wait longer for. Too bad it also excludes pre-orders.

    Going to keep my eye on the Amazon sales, but suspect I've spent enough for now. I also picked up LoZ: Link's Awakening DX for 3DS VC the other day which looks to be a good one. <<-- Yep, I'm a sucker for 2D overhead zelda games...

  5. @robert - lately, all these zelda articles and releases has had me wanting to get out there and play a ton of Zelda games I missed over the years. Though, I realized I have played a 3rd one. I had played Zelda's 1 & 2, but forgotten that I had Windwaker on the Gamecube. :P

  6. @Chalgyr: I know what you mean, all the zelda news gets the nostalgia juices going again.

    No Windwaker for me. Any good?

    "I have quite a few games I should finish before investing in a bunch of new ones!"
    Did you see my "New Year's video game resolution"?

    @superphillip32:
    It's interesting you mentioned it, because I get the Best Buy emails every week! I got one earlier today from them, as they usually arrive on Sundays, but I am just so used to doing Amazon sales, as that's where I usually go myself.

    @The Strikester:
    Do stores ever do anything like "Buy Two Used, Get One Free" like GameStop does? Or, is just typically whatever price they release at?

    @Robert:
    With all the games you have, you should have plenty of incoming posts right? Or, are you actually completing these?!

    @Chalgyr and Robert:
    Windwaker took about 10 hours of my life, never went back after getting lost traveling around!

    Thank you all for the comments/feedback! The weekly deals post will start becoming more normal after this month is over.

  9. @Robert - Windwaker was alright. I got it as a father's day present from my kids, and I had not played a Zelda game in years. It felt different, and as Coffee pointed out - you can get lost in it pretty easily. I did beat it and enjoyed it, but not having played the zelda games in between, it felt very different from the Zelda I remembered.

    Oh sure, tons of them with all that time I have! :) And of course I'm 100%'ing every game as is per my blog motto.
