That said, the 2nd game was a lot of fun - I think my review on my blog is similar to BitNick's remarks. Not much of a story to it, but the action is good, get-off-of-the-couch fun. Never did play the first Red Steel.

I do recall when the Wii was tentatively named Revolution - had forgotten all about that though until I read your post here. Good stuff as always. :)Chalgyrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10879608925209948366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-62408803330533034992011-04-13T00:48:20.828-04:002011-04-13T00:48:20.828-04:00With the exception of disarming enemies and making...With the exception of disarming enemies and making them surrender, I would say that Red Steel 2 kept the things you loved! You can blow the holy living crap out of just about everything you see(and are encouraged to do so in the interest of collecting money), and there are some pretty great explosions spiced throughout the game.

Add to that the fact that the swordplay is immeasurably better than the original, and I think that Red Steel 2 is definitely worth playing! It is a solid, good-looking game, and although the story is nothing to write home about, it carries the action competently from setpiece to setpiece.

Plus, there's just nothing like slicing someone up into the air, shooting them 3 times, leaping above them, and slamming them back to the ground with the edge of your sword. I'll lend you my copy of the game if you'd give it a try.

-BitNickThe 8-Bit Variety Show!https://www.blogger.com/profile/12023608289718368734noreply@blogger.com
