BTW, I've noticed it seems more games are doing remixed music now. Cave Story came to mind, though I haven't even played it.

@keith:
I know they are on the VC, but they're probably $5 each! If I can get all eight games for just $3 used, I'm going that route!

@Chuckpebble:
I've got Punch-Out downloaded on the VC and have used the "suspend" option multiple times with the game.

If you haven't entered, and you want a free Wii Speak unit, make sure to enter the contest: http://coffeewithgames.blogspot.com/2010/04/contest-you-can-hear-me-now-win-wii.html

Thank you all very much for the comments again!coffeewithgameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381995224445934504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-52552756755792653012010-04-21T11:34:56.815-04:002010-04-21T11:34:56.815-04:00@DelawareGamer I wanted to add, playing the games ...@DelawareGamer I wanted to add, playing the games on the virtual console actual pretty much negates any need for the passwords. Love the ability to simply suspend. That said, I did write a few down at times when I was afraid of wasting a stash of energy tanks.

@SuperPhillip I'll second what you say just because of the hardware aspect. The D-pad on the PS2 controller is just way better than that teensy little plus sign on the cube controller. I think the button reversal could easily be dealt with, the big green A button is the one that's built for mashing. Now if you could get your hands on that sweet Hori pad that doesn't have analog sticks, then you'd be, as they say, in business.Chuckpebblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12294181146939134410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-45169699425944168352010-04-21T01:46:59.770-04:002010-04-21T01:46:59.770-04:00I liked the remix music while playing. ^_^I liked the remix music while playing. ^_^Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01673098281614419919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-48848818958450863282010-04-20T20:55:31.854-04:002010-04-20T20:55:31.854-04:00But MM 1-4 are out on the VC anyway, so I'm su...But MM 1-4 are out on the VC anyway, so I'm sure in time they all will be, even the X series.Keith Swiaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02316823560821063793noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-15147350437038653492010-04-20T18:47:52.653-04:002010-04-20T18:47:52.653-04:00If you have a PlayStation 2, that's the better...If you have a PlayStation 2, that's the better version. Nicely detailed.
If anybody reading the comments here would like to read it, link is: http://superphillipcentral.blogspot.com/2010/03/mega-man-10-wiiware-psn-xbla-review.html

2) Tonight

3) I'll be on the lookout for what Chuckpebble saw for $3!

@Chuckpebble:
"There is also the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for Gamecube(games 1-8 and 2 x games I think), which I saw used for $3 the other day, would've bought that if I had some sort of Gamecube controller with a bigger Dpad."

The next time I'm in GameStop, I'll be looking for it! Thanks for that information!

Also, I'm glad to see developers going back to 2D game-play, with the retro art styles, for certain games.

@delawaregamer:
You and SuperPhillip agree on Mega Man 2, so I'll be looking for the Mega man Anniversary Collection. It's kind of odd, I like games that are challenging. Even "controller breakingly frustrating".
I played through Call of Duty: World at War on the Veteran difficulty, and just stuck with it and finally completed it.
Rage of the Gladiator, stuck with it until I achieved "Rank: S" in each fight.

Perhaps I would enjoy the Mega Man games more than I think!

Thank you all very much for the comments/feedback!coffeewithgameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05381995224445934504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-16446903038377424582010-04-20T14:16:41.789-04:002010-04-20T14:16:41.789-04:00I agree, Mega Man 2 is the best I have played. Bu...I agree, Mega Man 2 is the best I have played. But Mega Man is Mega Man is Mega Man.....you really cannot go wrong. One word of warning. Mega Man as a franchise is known...if not PRIDED to be controller breakingly frustrating at times. Just be warned.

Mega Man 9 or 10 would be good points of entry as well since they add DLC and the option to save your game (instead of the password BS) and you can grind levels to buy items like health and ammo.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-35184633079106083022010-04-20T10:40:08.540-04:002010-04-20T10:40:08.540-04:00My first was actually Mega Man 6. I enjoyed it, but nowadays, with the internet at my disposal, I see that its one of the lesser versions.

I actually ended up buying Mega Man 9 when that launched making it my second game. I loved it. Its so simple, jump, shoot, don't get hit. The throwback graphics were right up my alley, though I opted not to use the graphical glitches like slowdown and flicker. I just like me some good clean pixel art, part of the reason I adore NMH2.

I later bought Mega Man 3 with my refund from when the internet channel went free. I was between 2 and 3 because those were the ones I heard the most about. I would recommend either of those 2 games to start with.

There is also the Mega Man Anniversary Collection for Gamecube(games 1-8 and 2 x games I think), which I saw used for $3 the other day, would've bought that if I had some sort of Gamecube controller with a bigger Dpad.

I haven't gotten 10, yet. But I'll use 9 as a proxy. If 9 was my first ever, here are my thoughts:
Tight, super tight, precise controls. Great retro art style. Punishingly hard and rewarding at the same time. A real gamer's game.Chuckpebblehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12294181146939134410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8884169422383528093.post-69772730256693317842010-04-20T03:59:14.042-04:002010-04-20T03:59:14.042-04:001) Did you get to read my review?

In the classic series you just run, jump, and shoot. In the X series, you can slide and climb walls, gain heart tanks to boost your life energy and gain armor enhancements from Dr. Light.

I'm rambling now.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01673098281614419919noreply@blogger.com
