Official - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Price Drop - Unofficially?

     

     Well, it looks like Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has had an "official" price drop, unofficially.
I saw the price-cut yesterday on Amazon.com, but held off on reporting it, thinking an "official" release would happen today.

     Since I haven't seen an "official" statement Uncharted 2's price-cut, on any site, here's what I have.
Amazon.com, BestBuy.com, GameStop.com, and Target.com all have a new "list" price of $39.99 for a NEW copy of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
You can purchase Uncharted 2: Among Thieves of Amazon.com right now for $36.99, with free shipping.

Questions:
If you have played Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune; is playing through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune first, the right way to go?  Or, can PS3 owners pick up Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and not miss much in the story of the games?
